Good reward and protection may be given to an honest officer or some other government employee by the Lokpal if he/she acts as a whistle blower against the wrongdoings in his/her own department.

The Bill must include everyone - from a common man to an elected government official, including the judiciary, members of the Parliament and the executive branch of the government. Corruption can take place at any level in the government and hence it must not exclude anybody. The bill must include provision to punish the guilty whether one is in service or not and punishment must include jail sentence along with confiscation of stolen/illegally gained property/wealth, plus heavy penalty. If he/she is found guilty while in service, they should not be able to apply for any government position. Period.

Jan lokpal bill is exactly what is needed desperately. But there is also a concern of inefficiency in the workings of the public servants, for eg. A. Traffic police officer lets a person go by his side after breaking a red light, the policeman did not take bribe but the person was was fined ,
The eg. Of a traffic policeman is a very small eg of inefficiency , many municipal department works are not done like repairing of road on time etc , they proceed very slowly in their tasks which equally hamppers the society

I'm very happy to say that Jan Lokpal Bill is must to implement in our country because most of leader are totally corrupt, those haven't good moral character. That's why Jan Lokpal bill which will make it the effective, accountable and independent anti-corruption body that India needs right now. I have been reading about Lokpal Bill regularly and am a regular web-visitor to this website and primarily "India Against Corruption".
Corruption has been widespread throughout our nation. Implementation of the Jan Lokpal Bill is a brilliant idea, however there should be a proper way of approaching the Govt and appealing them to accept the strongest Lokpal Bill. According to what I feel after reading Chetan Bhagat's article at TOI, a retrospective immunity to the corrupts is an intelligent way to implement a strong Lokpal Bill and to appease the Parliament to accept it. Massive scams have occured and who knows, many are in process. But with an retrospective immunity, many corrupt individuals will develop a tendency to rectify themselves and stop doing the wrong which they did before the implementation of the law.
A fast-unto-death is a good idea to keep the Govt alarmed and I completely support Annaji for what he has done for our country, but force is not the solution to mankind's problem... Today its negotiation that works!

I strongly feel that the country is progressing because of the effort of 1% of honest Govt Officials. I could not find anything in the Lokpal Bill to encourage and promote such dedicated workers of the country.
